Ministry impacts the whole family, not just the pastor. The constant demands of caring for others can quietly drain rest, connection, and joy. Pastors’ Oasis is a week set apart for pastoral families to be spiritually renewed, emotionally refreshed, and relationally reconnected.
This is not another conference. It’s an unhurried retreat designed to care for pastors, spouses, and children alike. Whether you attend with your children, or just your spouse, you’ll leave renewed and re-centered.

Pastors' Oasis features a program for families in ministry.
We aim to provide:
Intentional Rest
Built-in silence, margin, and free time allow pastors and families to experience true rest and unhurried connection.
Spiritual Renewal
Daily Bible teaching, worship, prayer, and a guided Retreat of Silence create space to hear from God, gain clarity, and be encouraged in ministry.
Meaningful Community
Shared meals, prayer, and honest conversations with other ministry families foster deep connection and remind pastors they are not alone.
A Healing Setting
Located along Lake Huron and surrounded by woods and trails, Cedar Bay’s natural beauty invites families to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect together.
Guest Speaker: Peter Reid
Peter was born in Wisconsin in 1960 and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After receiving Christ at age 13 when attending Northern Pines Family Camp, his family began attending Wooddale Church, now located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In 1979 Peter attended Bible School at Bodenseehof, one of the Torchbearers centers located in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The Lord used the ministry of Major Ian Thomas to form a foundational understanding of Christ who is our life as the source, means and goal of the Christian life.
Upon returning from Bodenseehof, Peter attended Northwestern College (now the University of Northwestern) in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated with a Bachelor degree in Social Science/History in 1984. That same year he returned to Bodenseehof as a Resident Assistant in the Bible school and remained on staff there until 1992 involved mainly in the youth and outreach ministry. From 1992- 1998 he served as lecturer and itinerant preacher at Capernwray Harbour, the Torchbearer center located in BC, Canada.
In 1998 Peter returned to Bodenseehof where he served as Bible school Principal from 2001-2014, and Director from 2014-2023. Peter has served as General Director of Torchbearers International since 2017. Torchbearers International is a mission’s fellowship which operates 23 centers around the world, involved in evangelistic, conference and short-term Bible school ministries. Peter is married to Gaby, who comes from Weilheim-Teck, Germany not far from Stuttgart. They have two adult children, three grandchildren and live in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
A Typical Day of Pastors' Oasis
Each day follows a gentle rhythm of worship, teaching, family time, and recreation. You’re free to participate as much - or as little - as you’d like. There’s no pressure!
Morning
- 8:00–9:15am - Breakfast in the Dining Hall
- 8:30–9:15am - Coffee Shop Open
- 9:30am - Family Worship & Teaching (with age-appropriate kids’ classes)
10:45–11:45am - Adult Small Group Discussion
Tuesday includes a guided Retreat of Silence from 9:30–11:45am, offering uninterrupted time alone with the Lord while children continue in their programs.
Afternoon
- 12:00–12:45pm - Lunch
- 1:15–5:00pm - Open Recreation & Waterfront
2:00–4:30pm - Coffee & Gift Shop Open
Camper-driven activity options include sailing, kayaking, canoeing, beach time, and hiking trails. Additional staff-guided activities include sailboat rides, crafts, regattas, sandcastle competitions, and tie-dye crafts.
Evening
- 5:30–6:15pm - Supper
- 6:45pm - Family Activities (scavenger hunts, carnival, crafts, talent night, closing campfire celebration) 8:00–10:00pm | Free Time (evening pontoon rides and wood-fired sauna by sign-up)
Housing Fees
Tent & RV Site - $330/site
Electrical hookup, no water or sewer. Nearby modern community bathroom and private showers.
Lodge Room - $745/room
Private guest room - sleeps up to 6-8, queen bed with bunks. Nearby community bathroom and private showers.
Cabin Guest Room - $1050/room
Private guest room with private bathroom - sleeps up to 4, featuring a queen bed with bunks, with a shared kitchenette and leisure area.
To hold your place, a non-refundable housing deposit of $250 is required.
Program & Meal Fees
The per-person rate fee for Summer Camp Events is as follows:
- Adult 19+ - $510
- Child 6-18 - $300
- Child 0-5 - $30
*Sales tax is included in all fees.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
If you cancel before May 1st, you will be refunded 50% of your deposit. After this date, all deposits are non-refundable.
